This Cookie Policy explains how Montrent ("we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on montrent.me. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal data more generally. Montrent operates as a car-rental service on the Montenegrin coast and acts under the laws of Montenegro.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Cookies let a site remember information between pages and visits — for example, that you have already made a choice in the cookie banner, or which language you prefer. We also use related browser technologies, such as your browser's local storage, for the same limited purposes; in this Policy we refer to all of these together as "cookies".
Cookies can be grouped in two useful ways:
- By who sets them — first-party cookies are set by montrent.me itself; third-party cookies are set by another domain. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
- By how long they last — a session cookie is deleted when you close your browser; a persistent cookie remains for a set period or until you delete it.
The cookies we use
Montrent's website is designed to work with strictly necessary cookies only. These are essential for the site to function, to keep it secure, and to remember the basic choices you make. Under data-protection rules, strictly necessary cookies do not require your consent, because the site cannot work properly without them.
The categories we use are:
Strictly necessary cookies
- Session and security — used to load pages reliably, to protect the site and your booking request against fraud and abuse, and to keep your connection working as you move through the site (including the booking request form, where you send us your dates and chosen car).
- Cookie-consent choice — once you respond to the cookie banner, we remember your choice so the banner does not reappear on every visit.
- Language preference — when you choose English, Russian or Turkish, we remember it so the site stays in your language. Our website does not guess your language automatically; it is only ever changed when you choose it.
Preference cookies
These remember non-essential choices that improve your experience (for example, a saved display setting). They carry no advertising or tracking purpose. Today this category overlaps almost entirely with the language preference above; we list it separately so the table below stays clear.
Advertising and analytics cookies
We do not use these by default. Montrent runs no third-party advertising and no cross-site tracking cookies. If, in the future, we decide to use analytics to understand how the site is used, those cookies would be non-essential and would be loaded only after you give consent through the cookie banner. Until you opt in, no such cookies are set.

Service providers
Our website runs on our own server behind Cloudflare, which provides DNS, content delivery and security (proxy) services and may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site and keep it available. Booking details are stored in a Supabase (PostgreSQL) database, and confirmation and other transactional emails are sent through Resend. These providers process data on our behalf so that we can run the site and confirm your rental; details are set out in our Privacy Policy.
The consent banner
When you first visit montrent.me you see a cookie banner. Because we use strictly necessary cookies only, the banner is there to inform you and to record your acknowledgement, and to obtain consent for any non-essential cookies before they would ever be used. Strictly necessary cookies remain active so that core features — including sending a booking request — continue to work.
How to change or withdraw your consent
You are always in control of cookies. You can:
- Re-open the banner / reset your choice — clear the saved consent for montrent.me (for example, by clearing this site's cookies and stored data in your browser) and the banner will appear again on your next visit, letting you make a new choice.
- Use your browser settings — every major browser lets you view, block or delete cookies, and refuse cookies from specific sites. Look in your browser's Settings → Privacy section, or use its Help feature.
Please note that blocking or deleting strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site from working — for instance, the booking request form may not function, the site may not remember your language, and the cookie banner may reappear on every visit. Blocking non-essential cookies has no effect on core functionality.
Nothing here changes how the rest of your rental works: there is no online prepayment — you pay at pickup in EUR — prices shown are final, cancellation is free up to 48 hours before pickup, and fuel is full-to-full. These terms are set out elsewhere on the site and do not depend on cookies.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we change our providers or introduce analytics. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again through the banner.
