Terms of Service

*Montrent is the trading name of Balto Ultimo d.o.o., a limited-liability company registered in Montenegro.*

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the montrent.me website and the booking service offered through it. By accessing the website, sending a booking request, or otherwise using our service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website or submit a booking request.

Please read these Terms together with our Rental Conditions, Cancellation Policy, and Privacy Policy, which form part of your agreement with us.

1. Who we are

Montrent ("Montrent", "we", "us", or "our") is a car-rental operator based on the Montenegrin coast, providing vehicle rental and delivery services in Montenegro. We operate under the laws of Montenegro, and all our prices are quoted in euro (EUR).

You can reach us at any time through our contact page, including by WhatsApp. We provide support in English, Russian, and Turkish.

2. The booking process

Montrent does not offer instant, automated booking. A reservation is created in the following steps:

  • You send a request. Using the website, you choose your dates, location, and a vehicle, and submit a booking request. Submitting a request does not create a confirmed reservation and does not, by itself, oblige you to pay anything.
  • We confirm. We review your request and reply with a confirmation that states the exact vehicle, the rental period, the pick-up and return details, the total price, the refundable security deposit, and the applicable driver requirements. We may, at our discretion, decline a request or propose an alternative vehicle (for example, if the requested car is no longer available).
  • You pay at pick-up. No online prepayment is required. You pay the full rental price at pick-up, when the vehicle is handed over to you.

When a contract is formed

A binding rental contract between you and Montrent is formed only when we issue our confirmation for a specific vehicle and total price. Until that moment, there is no contract, and prices, availability, and vehicles shown on the website are indicative only.

3. Prices and payment

  • All prices are shown and charged in euro (EUR).
  • The prices displayed are intended to be final and all-inclusive — there are no hidden fees. The amount stated on your booking confirmation is the price you pay.
  • Payment is made at pick-up; no prepayment is taken through the website.
  • At pick-up we take a refundable security deposit, the amount of which is shown on your booking confirmation. The deposit is returned after the vehicle is returned undamaged and in accordance with the Rental Conditions.
  • The website does not process card payments. Any card details required to identify the main driver or to hold the deposit are handled at pick-up.

Certain costs remain the renter's responsibility under the Rental Conditions — for example tolls (such as the Sozina tunnel), traffic fines, fuel beyond the full-to-full policy, and any damage up to the insurance excess. These are governed by the Rental Conditions rather than by these website Terms.

4. The Rental Conditions govern the rental itself

These Terms govern your use of the website and the booking process. The use of the vehicle, the obligations of the driver, insurance and excess, the security deposit, fuel policy (full-to-full), driver age and licence requirements, cross-border travel, and the return of the car are governed by our separate Rental Conditions. Driver requirements — including the minimum driver age and the minimum number of years holding a licence — vary by vehicle class and are shown on each car and on your booking confirmation.

By submitting a booking request you confirm that you have read and accept the Rental Conditions.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel a confirmed booking free of charge up to 48 hours before the scheduled pick-up. Because no prepayment is taken online, free cancellation simply releases the reservation at no cost to you. Full details, including how to cancel and what applies to late cancellations and no-shows, are set out in our Cancellation Policy.

6. Acceptable use of the website

When using montrent.me, you agree to:

  • provide accurate and complete information in your booking request, and keep it up to date;
  • use the website only for lawful purposes and only to make genuine booking enquiries;
  • not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, its servers, or any connected systems;
  • not use the website in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair it, or interfere with any other party's use of it;
  • not use any automated means (such as scrapers or bots) to access, copy, or collect content from the website without our prior written permission; and
  • not submit false, fraudulent, or speculative booking requests.

We reserve the right to refuse service, decline or cancel a booking request, and restrict access to the website where we reasonably believe these Terms have been breached.

7. Intellectual property

The website and all of its content — including text, photographs, graphics, logos, the Montrent name and brand, page layout, and design — are owned by Montrent or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may view and use the website for the purpose of making a booking with us. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, or otherwise exploit any part of the website for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

8. Limitation of liability for website use

We take care to keep the information on the website accurate and up to date, but we provide the website on an "as available" basis and do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Montrent is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website, including indirect or consequential loss, or loss caused by matters outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of Montenegro, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraud.

This section concerns your use of the website. Liability relating to the rental of a vehicle is dealt with in the Rental Conditions.

9. Privacy

We process the personal data you provide when making a booking in order to handle your reservation and contact you about it. How we collect, use, and protect your data — and the service providers we rely on — is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our service or in the law. The version published on the website at the time you submit a booking request is the version that applies to that request. We encourage you to review this page before each booking.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms, and any matter arising from your use of the website or from a booking, are governed by the laws of Montenegro. We will always try to resolve any concern amicably and quickly — please contact us first so we can help. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the competent courts of Montenegro.
